Maccabi Tel-Aviv: one of the under the rug reasons- whats going to happen to Alex Tyus?

Historic Champions, three weeks ago, Hapoel Jerusalem, have begun the player’s monopoly. It’s this time of year where players are moved around, sent home or are here to stay. This game of movement has made Maccabi Tel-Aviv a bit nervous.

Maccabi Tel-Aviv is making big changes since their fall down this year and deciding to first and foremost clear the table and start a new page! Three of their Israeli players Yogev Ohayon, Or Lehumi and Ben Altit have signed on for the 2015-2016 league but most of the foreigners players have been sent home for now!

The main message Maccabi Tlv made clear during the beginning of the off-season is that they do not take all the injuries that the team went through this season as an excuse as to why they failed so much this year, although it has shown that it definitely affected the team tremendously.

Alexander Trent Tyus (born January 8, 1988), one of Maccabi’s American-Israeli players, was reported to be one of the problems. Tyus has been with Maccabi for two years now (two years of winning leagues) but for some reason this year, Tyus just wasn’t on the same page as the rest of the team.

“His instability was one of the problems which made it hard for all of us” said Goodes (Maccabi Tlv’s coach), according to Sports 5 news.

His constant injuries made the player weak and less reliable on the court, but he is still recognized as one of Israel’s best players throughout the past two years, although most players are released with such injuries, so why wasn’t he? This also could be seen as a fail of the team for keeping him…

Furthermore, Tyus’s Injuries weren’t just the problem here, his constant problematic behavior and complaining where also the issue, making it aggravating for the team. Unfortunately for Tyus it seems like we wont be seeing him with Maccabi this year, and it is some-what understandable that such a big club like Maccabi Tlv, needs to make a decision like this and give up such talent with problematic behavior.
